MACVB Mission
Statement
"The Missouri Association of Convention & Visitor Bureaus supports,
promotes, and develops sustainable economic growth of vacation
and meeting/convention travel on behalf of its member bureaus
and their respective communities. MACVB enhances the
professionalism, effectiveness, and image of its members and
the industry they represent."
About MACVB
Missouri Association
of Convention and Visitor Bureaus (MACVB), comprised of
destination marketing organizations, was established to
develop cooperative marketing, promotion and educational
programs among convention and visitor bureaus in the state and
to provide resources and a support network for its
members. MACVB
strives to enhance the awareness and influence of the
convention and visitor industry, through the efforts of
convention and visitors bureaus, as a visible economic
generator for Missouri. Another goal of MACVB is to
influence government at all levels in matters that impact
convention and visitor bureaus and/or the convention and
visitor industry. MACVB
was founded in 1992 and represents 27 convention and visitor
bureaus, tourism departments and chamber of commerces
throughout the state. Membership in the association is
granted to organizations that serve as the official
destination marketing organization for their
jurisdiction. Members represent a cross-section of
Missouri communities with annual budgets ranging from $40,000
to over $6 million. All members of the association, both
large and small, are dedicated to the continued growth of the
Missouri convention and visitor industry while attaining and
maintaining the highest standards of professionalism.
Members meeting quarterly to discuss issues impacting the
industry on the state and national level, and the association
annual sponsors an educational conference. For
